Summer 2013 Update.

Menus • Business Hours • New Chef

 

We've received numerous inquiries over the past few weeks as to what we have planned at Local Lounge • Grille for the remainder of 2013. Several of these inquiries have been regarding business hours for the upcoming Summer Season, and if and what changes will be taking place in our menus.

 

First of all, now that we've hired amazing and extremely talented Executive Chef Lee Humphries we're looking forward towards launching a completely new menu around the Summer Solstice (Thursday June 20th - Friday June 21st).

 

In regards to business hours we made a decision this past January to operate Local Lounge • Grille 'Primarily' as a year round evening dining establishment. The Secondary opening time for us will be offering Weekend Brunch through the Spring/Summer months beginning Saturday June 8, 2013.

Last on our opening list will be Monday - Friday lunch service (which is tentative at this time). Weekday lunch service will be based upon numerous factors, such as recruiting qualified culinary and serving staff to fulfill the additional time slot in our day.

It's always best to check with us through our Website, Facebook, Twitter or even on our online reservation system OpenTable for our most up to date dining times. Picking up the phone and dialing 250.494.8855 will do the trick as well.

SUMMERLAND, BC – May 28, 2013 – Local Lounge • Grille continues their “eat local, drink local, be local” approach to gastronomy, welcoming former Vancouver based celebrated Chef, Lee Humphries as their new Executive Chef.  


Originally from southern England, Lee has spent his lifetime in the food trade. His epicurean journey began at a young age on the family farm in Cornwall.  A natural attraction to the culinary trade saw him cooking his way into some of the finest restaurants in London;
including Michelin rated, luxury Westbury Mayfair Hotel on Bond Street. 

 

Arriving in British Columbia over a decade ago, his West Coast experience spans from fine dining to approachable -- starting as sous chef under David Hawksworth at West – to Executive Chef at FigMint, Opus Hotel’s Elixir, and the Heather Hospitality Group; where he indulged his appreciation for rustic, but refined fare along with craft microbrews and fine wine.  Most recently, he was the Executive Chef of Vancouver’s foremost seafood restaurant - C.  He wholeheartedly embraced their Ocean Wise philosophy of sourcing responsibly harvested and sustainable seafood.

 

With almost 20 years of hospitality experience in prestigious London and Vancouver restaurants, he is a strong advocate of “Farm to Fork” cuisine.  His authentic culinary style is based on the integrity of ingredients that is seasonally inspired, sustainably raised and locally grown using the best local ingredients available.

Closed Monday May 27th.

Closed for minor renovations... here comes 'By The Glass'

We will be closed Monday May 27, 2013 for a minor renovation to our back bar area as we prepare to install the latest system in Wine Preservation.

 

We will begin installation of our 16 bottle 'By the Glass' Wine preservation system. We will re-open Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 5:00pm.

Mother's Day Brunch Sunday May 12th.

Mother's Day, Sunday May12th we will be serving a special 3 course Prix Fixe menu from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Reservations will be required. No other menu will be served.

 

Our complete menu can be viewed right here. Price is $29/Adults and Children under 12 are half price.

There is no guarantee on the weather. Our patio will be served only in ideal weather conditions.
